8th Grade Dance Behavior Contract

The BIS 8th Grade Celebration Dance will be held on June 7, 2025 at the Burlingame Parks and Recreation Center.

We promote an atmosphere where chaperones and students support one another with genuine respect. As a student participant, it is your responsibility to help make the event a positive and enjoyable experience for yourself, fellow students, and chaperones. All participants are expected to demonstrate high standards of conduct and to accept personal responsibilities and consequences for their actions. You are expected to be courteous, honest, and considerate of others. This includes those in your group and anyone with whom you may come into contact, such as chaperones, BIS staff and facilities staff.

Our goal is to make this event fun, safe, and memorable for everyone. To help us achieve this goal, we ask each individual to cooperate and commit to the following behavior guidelines.

We expect the student/participant to obey the following rules of behavior:

  • The student is to follow the directions, rules, and regulations established by the chaperones and staff, both before and during the event
  • The student shall not be involved in any way with smoking, alcohol, illegal drugs, vandalism, theft, or any other behavior judged by the chaperones to be detrimental to the health, well-being, safety, or reputation of him/her or anyone else in the group, including the chaperones, BIS staff and/or facilities staff.
  • The student shall comply with all rules and regulations of various governmental and commercial agencies, such as entertainment parks and bus companies.
  • The student shall remain with the group.
  • The student shall respect and follow the directions of teachers, chaperones and facilities supervisors.
  • No throwing of any object or tampering with facilities property is allowed
The use of the facilities carries with it the responsibility of leaving them in the same condition in which they were. The student is responsible for any damage that occurs.
  • The student may never leave the facilities unless accompanied by a chaperone.
  • Good common sense, respect, and consideration for others and their property should be practiced.

If the student violates any of these rules, he/she may be sent home at the sole discretion of the BIS staff and faculty. In such cases, the parent/guardian will be contacted, and the student will be sent home at the parent's expense.
